Today is another part of my “Christmas around the world” series, and today we are landing in Prague, Czech Republic!

I love Prague, and I had such a wonderful time in this beautiful city when I visited last April. I truly think that Prague is one of the prettiest European cities, when it’s not Christmas and also when it is fully decorated for the holidays.

Today we are going to talk about the best Christmas activities to do in Prague – Christmas markets, Christmas tours & festive activities you can do around the city!

The Best Christmas Markets in Prague

Old Town Square Christmas Market – one of the prettiest areas in Prague. This market is the most famous one in the city!

The Old Town Square market hosts special Christmas events, live shows, carol concerts and dance shows along with the festive vibes in the air. MAGICAL.

If you are visiting Prague with children, the Old Town Square offers some fun activities for children! starting from creative workshops, a minizoo, and more!

In the market you will find some delicious local foods and drinks – hot chocolate, spiced mulled wine and some handmade gifts such as decorations, toys, jewelry, winter clothing & accessories.

Opening dates: November 30th – January 6th

Opening hours: daily through 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

– Stands with refreshment are opened from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.

Wenceslas Square Christmas Market – the Wenceslas Square is another main, beautiful area in Prague, which hosts another beautiful Christmas Market!

The Wenceslas square’s Christmas market offers beautiful handmade wooden and steel gifts. Also, delicious local foods and warm drinks!

Dates: November 30th – January 6th

Opening hours: Christmas goods stands – 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. , Food stands close at 12 p.m.

Christmas market at Prague Castle – this lovely Christmas market is located at St George’s Square and at the Stable yard.

The market features a wide selection of high quality Christmas gifts and goodies! The location is amazing, and the festive vibes just ties it all together!

Dates: November 23rd – January 6th

Opening hours: On Mondy-Thursday – 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. , Friday-Sunday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Christmas market at Republic square – this Christmas market is located on the bustling public space close the V celnici street.

In the Republic square Christmas market you can find a wide selection of Christmas goods – mistletoe, wreaths, candles, candle holders, kid’s toys, Christmas decorations, handicrafts, advent calenders and so much more!

And, we can forget the delicious local festive food and warm drinks!

Dates: November 25th – December 24th

Opening hours: 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Go on some special tours!

Sightseeing cruise on the Vltava river – I love river cruises, it’s another special way to get to know a new place, to see it from a different point of view.
