Dead Sea Tree: Real pics + How To Get There! !

Ever heard of the Dead Sea Tree ?

Last week I went to a small middle of the week getaway to the Dead Sea in Israel, and I had so much fun !

It was so dreamy.

The sun, summer vibes, warm weather, good food, an amazing hotel, the beach, the pool – and I wont even start talking about my tan lines πŸ˜‰

I went with my mother for a two night, three day relaxing vacation. We totally needed it and we did get the most out of it !

“The lonely tree” island – The dead sea, Israel

Where Is The Dead Sea Tree?

The Dead Sea Tree is located in The Dead Sea between Ein Bokek and Neve Zohar in Israel. If you go by car, its 2 hours from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem.

By Car : Park your car in one of the car parks between Herods Hotel or the Leonardo Plaza Hotel.

Then you walk a few metres to the beach (Hamei Zohar Public Beach) and you will be able to see the shoreline from the island.

Once you locate the jetty, walk to the end of it, and then wade to the sale island! (yahooo!)

Something to note: Although you can see the tree as soon as you enter the pier, getting up close is harder than it looks.

Swimming in the Dead Sea waters is challenging, especially as you cannot splash any water into your eyes or mouth as its REALLY salty.. The buoyancy also makes regular swimming strokes very awkward. . However, if you’re determined, you can reach this attraction in around 20 minutes and it is well worth the swim/paddle/splash!

It’s a real creative masterpiece and an unforgettable experience.

Want to make sure your trip to the Dead Sea tree is as prepared and comfortable as possible? Here are some essentials I packed:

Where to Stay at The Dead Sea, Israel?

We stayed at the “Isrotel Hotel” which is such an amazing 5 star hotel. Best thing about this hotel, is that it so cheap! you get much more than what you pay for.

We had a beautiful room, with an even prettier view of the pool and the Dead Sea itself.

The hotel’s pool was huge, there is actually two levels to this pool which is pretty insane.

Also, at the hotel you can find a salt pool (an inside + small outside pool that is filled with salt water from the Dead Sea), so you can float in the pool!

We only ate breakfasts at the hotel, and oh god, that was too good for my belly. Delicious food!

And, another huge plus about the hotel is that there is a private beach for all the hotel’s guests, which is more than nice.

I’ve actually wanted to visit the Dead Sea for a while now. I had been here before, a few times actually, but I just love it.

I love the desert, the color of the water, the vacation vibes you get here, the sun, the tanning, and of course, floating in the Dead Sea, putting on some mud, taking pictures – the whole vacation experience !

So beyond the love for the Dead Sea, this year I found a new reason to add to my lists of reasons of having to visit the Dead Sea already – ” ‘The Lonely Tree”. The what ? yes, you read correct.

“The Lonely Tree Dead Sea/”Dead Tree In The Sea Of Life”, what ever you choose to call it, is a mystrious tree that came into our lives around last year.

For a long time, I saw more pictures of this salt island in the middle of the dead sea, that some how a tree grew in it !

I think I saved on Instagram every picture of it. I didn’t knew what it was called, and I had no idea where it was located. But, I did knew one thing – I HAD TO GO THERE.

So I did πŸ™‚

First of all, this tree island looks like a piece of heaven.

Its a small island that is made from salt ! crazy ! and the crazier part is that there is a tree growing from it ! how is it possible ? obviosly it is dead, but how did it grow there from the first place ? hmmm…. I guess we’ll never know.
