1.Kalepa Ridge Trail

If you’re up for some panoramic photography for the gram, try the Kalepa Ridge Trail.

This trail is 1.9 miles  out and back and usually takes hikers around 45 minutes to an hour to complete (depending on your respective form and stamina).

What I love about this trail is the view as the hike brings you to a spectacular and stunning view of the Na’Pali Coast.

As land access to the NaPali Coast is limited, this hike is one of the ways to bring you as close as possible to the dramatic coastline.

The trail is said to be slightly challenging with sometimes steep and narrow paths. Hikers are also advised not to attempt this trail during wet and rainy conditions. When it comes to hiking, safety is of utmost importance!

2.Limahuli Garden & Preserve

If you’re a keen explorer of the botanical world, you can experience an authentic Hawaiian landscape right here. This gorgeous botanical garden spans 17 acres alongside a 985-acre nature preserve.

Located along the north shore of Kauai, this garden’s biodiversity is amazing! It houses some of the world’s endangered flora and fauna and highlights Hawaii’s native plants.

But that’s not it. I want to bring your attention to the taro gardens and terrace that date back more than a century. Head on up to the overlook and you’ll get the best view of the terraces.

3.Hanalei Bay

If you’re looking for the perfect sun, sea, and mountain moment, Hanalei Bay would provide you with the picture-perfect opportunity. This is definitely one of the most instagrammable places in Kauai!

The charming bay, mountains as backdrops against the azure-blue waters is truly a splendid sight and great for photos.

4.Napali Coast State Wilderness Park

Located in the northwest of Kauai, Napali Coast State Wilderness Park is heaven on Earth. It is inaccessible by vehicles and there is a mighty good reason why. Aside from protecting the ecological landscape, I feel this park is best experienced through a hike.

Due to its wilderness setting, hiking in this park is considered challenging.

But if you’re up for it, your journey will be rewarded by some of the most breathtaking coastlines in the world. This park is well known for its towering cliffs, streams, and waterfall.

5.Puu O Kila Lookout

If you’re looking for a panoramic view out to the Kalalau Valley, look no further. Located at the end of Waimea Canyon Road, and accessible by car, your journey here will be greeted by one of the most magnificent lookouts on Kauai.

I love how the weather plays such transformational views on this lookout. Depending on how the sun, breeze and clouds play on that day, your capture of the valley changes from one minute to the next. Arrive before 11 a.m. for the best views of the valley.

6.Queen’s Bath

Aptly name because this is a cheeky little pool that is formed out of a natural sinkhole! As with most beautiful places in Hawaii, you need to put in some work to get there for that instagrammable shot.

Lucky for you, getting to Queen’s Bath is relatively easy. Located on the Northshore, this area is accessible via car. However, to get to Queen’s Bath would require a relatively easy 20-30 minute hike.

While you are allowed to take a dip in Queen’s Bath, do be sure to observe tidal warnings and precautions. I would be happy just to sit by and watch the scenery!

7. Wailua Falls

Head on over to Wailua Falls for some spectacular double-tiered waterfall and one of the most instagrammable places in Hawaii. This waterfall is Kauai’s most famous waterfall and a spot deemed worthy of a stop.

Unlike most waterfalls that require a hike, this one is relatively easy to get to. So easy you can get a good view of it even from the nearby parking lot.

To get the best photo opportunity, I would encourage you to arrive in the mornings when there’s sunlight. You might be rewarded with a waterfall rainbow if the light catches the mists at the right time.

8. Waimea Canyon State Park

Also known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, this picturesque state park is a sight to behold. Adventurers to this state park will traverse some of the most beautiful sights this place has to offer – stunning cliffs, lush foliage, waterfalls and unique flora and fauna.

What’s more, the Waimea Canyon State Park has several lookouts with magnificent views for amazing photography!

OAHU

9.Halona Beach Cove

Located on the West side of the Halona Blowhole overlook, Halona Beach Cove is slightly hidden from the main road which earned itself the name “Oahu Secret Beach”.

This special little beach is surrounded by a steep cliff on all sides, making this secluded location one of the best instagram spots Oahu.

10.Hanauma Bay

Hanauma Bay is one of the most instagrammable places in Honolulu. Head on over here for some excellent snorkeling adventure and get a glimpse of Oahu’s coral and sea life.

With sandy beaches and amazing clear waters, you can be sure to pack in some beautiful underwater pictures.

11.Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden

Botanical gardens are one of my favorite places to visit because I love how tranquil it can get when I am in one. It also allows me to be close to nature in a very accessible way, and the landscapes are always the perfect backdrop for a beautiful picture.

Here in Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden, that beautiful photo opportunity is plentiful when you have beautiful palm trees lining your path and an amazing mountain as your backdrop.

12.Kaaawa Beach

Oahu instagram spots are aplenty on this island, and one of them is right here on Kaaawa Beach.

Kaaawa Beach may be small due to its narrow sandy beach but I love how picturesque this beach is because it is flanked by the Ko’olau Mountains.

13.Koko Crater Railway Trail

Now here’s one of my favorites! This special trail leads up to a special little place right on top (also the next instagrammable location on my list).

How cool is it to hike up 1.4 miles on a WWII railway track to the top of Koko Head Crater? The climb is steep and grueling but the view on top is worth all of it.

Not to mention also, a picture of yourself scaling the almost vertical railway track is pretty insta-worthy in my eyes!

14.Koko Head Crater

One of the most instagrammable places in Oahu, in my opinion, is Koko Head. From the moment you lay your first step on the railway track hike, you’re in for some of the most picturesque journeys to the top of the crater.

Once you arrive at the top, you will be greeted by a spectacular view of the east Honolulu shoreline, Hanauma Bay, and parts of Molokai. The panoramic view is breathtaking, I assure you.

15.Lanai Lookout

Standing on top of the Lanai Lookout is a very special experience. I especially loved seeing the beautiful rock formation against the coastline, the reddish-brown sand and the strong waves crashing into the rocks. There is something very healing about this place.

The striking contrast of nature at play is quite surreal and photos probably can’t do it justice – unless it is on your instagram! Lanai Lookout is definitely one of the prettiest Honolulu instagram spots.

16.Kualoa Regional Park

If you’re looking to combine pretty sights, relaxing beaches and Hollywood-worthy spots, Kualoa Regional Park is the place to be.

Located at Kaneohe Bay, on the island of Oahu, Kualoa Regional Park’s calm and peaceful beaches provide the best place to relax and enjoy the gentle lapping of the waves.

And if you’re a movie buff like me, you would love to know that this exact place was also used as movie locations sets for Jurassic World, Jurassic Park, Hawaii Five-O and Lost. I find that really neat.

17.Laniakea Beach

Laniakea Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Hawaii famed for its green sea turtles! And because of that, it is also known as Turtle Beach. It is definitely an experience to watch these turtles bask under the sun.

What’s more, these turtles actually do not seem to mind being photographed and I say this sure seems to make for a perfect photo memory.

18.Lanikai Beach

Lanikai Beach, also known as “Heavenly Ocean”, is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in all of Hawaii.

This gem of a place is one of the most instagrammable places in Hawaii because of its calm azure-blue waters, accessible swimming and snorkeling spots, and a tranquil atmosphere that makes it perfect for taking pictures.

If you’re a sunrise or moonrise person like me, this beach is the perfect viewing spot.

Make sure you’re armed with the right photography gear, or maybe just a phone camera, to capture those gorgeous moments. Lanikai Beach is surely one of the most instagrammable places in Oahu.

19. Makapuu Lookout

Hawaii is home to many lookouts and each lookout has a spectacular view to offer.

Located just off Kalanianaole Highway on Oahu’s southeastern tip, Makapuu Lookout offers an amazing view of the turquoise ocean and panoramic views of Oahu’s beautiful southeastern shoreline, Koko Head Crater, Koko Marina, and Honolulu.

I particularly love watching the varying colors of the water beneath me and I am sure you will find the breathtaking view of the ocean both mesmerizing and calming.

20.Nu’uanu Pali Lookout

Instagram spots in Oahu are plentiful and Nu’uanu Pali Lookout is among the ones offering a scenic vista of the windward side of Oahu.

This site is a historical landmark and home to an ancient Hawaiian battle. Aside from its historical past, this lookout offers a 360-degree view of the Koolau mountain range, including Waianae and Wai’anae Valley.

21.Shark’s Cove

Looking for some underwater photography while in Hawaii? Shark’s Cove is the perfect place to do just that. This destination is popular for snorkeling and diving due to its calm waters, amazing underwater topography, and diverse marine life.

22.Stairway To Heaven

Doesn’t the name already sound intriguing? Haiku Stairs, also known as Stairway To Heaven, is a set of 3000 steps along Oahu’s Ko’olau mountain range.

It features amazing views and the dramatic drop offs on both sides of the ridge surely make for a memorable hike.

The trail can be challenging, but when you get to the top, make sure you take a moment to soak in the moment and enjoy the beauty Hawaii has to offer.

23.The Byodo-in Temple

This place takes me back to Japan instantly. The Byodo-In Temple is located at the foot of the Ko’olau Mountains deep in the Valley of the Temples. This temple is a sight to behold!

Nestled against the gorgeous backdrop of Oahu’s soaring Koolau Mountains, this temple seems to both stand out yet blend with nature, making it such a unique contrast.

This hidden gem in Hawaii found off the beaten path on the Windward Coast is truly worth a visit.

24.Waimea Bay Beach Park

For those looking to combine their interest in surfing and photography can head over right here. Waimea is well known for its 30-foot waves and is a top place for water activities such as bodyboarding, surfing, snorkeling and swimming.

25.Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail

Trails excites me and here’s one that offers one stunning view after another along your hike.

This hike is extremely picturesque as it will bring you through lush rainforest, exposed peaks and valleys, and cheeky glimpses of the Pacific Ocean. Your perfect shot is at every corner!

The trail is relatively easy to follow but it is rated moderately difficult. As the stunning view is located along the mountain ridgelines, the hike up to the summit is steep. So be sure you have the right shoes and gears on.

As you arrive at the summit, you will be greeted with a panoramic view of the entire island of Oahu. Oh the sight is one to behold!

26.Pink Pill Box

Hiking in Oahu is always such a fun thing to do. I get to find the best places to snap some amazing photos and it is even more fun when bright happy colors are involved. So here comes the Pink Pill Box.

Painted in pink to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness, the Pink Pill Boxe sits high above Farrington Highway on the west side of Oahu in Waianae.

The hike up takes approximately one hour but along the way, you will get to enjoy very scenic views of Oahu’s western shoreline.

27.Kuliouou Ridge Trail

Take on this trail and I can assure you won’t regret it one single bit! This beautiful trail may start off a little bit rocky along a dirt path but as you scale to the top of the ridge, you will be rewarded with sweeping views of the dramatic landscapes.

What I loved most about this trail is the changing scenery along the hike. There is almost always an opportunity for an amazing photo because of this!

28.Mermaid Cave

You don’t need to be a mermaid to explore this underwater cave! This awe-inspiring geological marvel is shrouded in mystery and the secret shoreline within the cave offers a breathtaking experience that you have to add into your most instagrammable places in Hawaii.

However, as this is an underwater cave, please always proceed with caution as water may swell in the cave. Current can also be strong if you’re not a strong swimmer.

29.Haiku Gardens

Not exactly a tourist attraction but more of a wedding venue, you surely do not need to get married to pop by Haiku Gardens for some photo opportunities.

Take a stroll around the grounds and you’ll find a koi pond and lush greenery against the stunning Ko’olau mountain range.

30.Waikiki Beach

Waikiki is the heart of Honolulu and home to a series of sandy white beaches ideal for all kinds of water sports and activities. The best photo spot in Waikiki can be found literally anywhere on this beach.

The sprawling beaches can be found in the west with Duke Kahanamoku Beach and extend to the east to Sans Souci Beach at Diamond Head making it some of the most instagrammable places in Waikiki.

MOLOKAI

31.Kalaupapa National Historical Park

The Kalaupapa National Historical Park is a beautiful scenic national park that features some absolutely stunningly picturesque landscapes that were once home to some of the residents of Kalaupapa, a leper colony that was established in the late 1800s.

Access into this historical site is controlled. So, to catch a glimpse of its remote beauty and learn about its history, you would need to engage in a local tour. I can assure you it is worth it as the sights and story will amaze you.

32.Molokai Sea Cliffs

The word “breathtaking” cannot even begin to describe this natural marvel of beauty. The Molokai Sea Cliffs tower above the shorelines and reach between 3,000 to 4,000 feet in height.

For a spectacular view and that perfect panoramic shot, you can either make your way to the Palaau State Park or Kalaupapa National Historical Park

33.Papalaua Falls

I don’t know how much surprises Hawaii has got under her sleeves. She surprises me over and over again and this time, it is the Papalaua Falls. Located at the deep end of Molokai’s Papalaua Valley, this secret waterfall is only visible from the ocean or air.

LANAI

34.Kaunolu Village

This former fishing village, Kaunolu Village Site is located on the south coast of the island of Lanai. The Kaunolu Village is also a historical site which houses the largest surviving ruins of a prehistoric Hawaiian village.

This village is really charming and I enjoy learning about its historical past. Here, you’ll find the perfect spot for photography along its sea cliffs, the ancient remains of Halulu Heiau (sacred temple site) and Kahekili’s Jump, a steep 80-foot drop.

35.Keahiakawelo (Garden of the Gods)

Keahiakawelo, also known as Garden of the Gods, is a picturesque rock garden dotted with large boulders, rock towers, and other rock formations that comes in bright fun colors.

Contrary to its name, this park is void of trees, plants, or grass! You’ll see only an endless sprawling space of orange-red-hued sand. It is said that its topography resembles that of the moon. How interesting is that!

And because of its unique and somewhat mysterious barren and rocky landscape, coupled with that intense orange-reddish-hued land, it sure makes for a very interesting picture.

36.Puu Pehe

Puu Pehe is also known as Sweetheart Rock – how absolutely adorable is that? Unfortunately the tale behind the name was a rather tragic one. If you’re interested in this folklore you can read about it here

If you are in Lanai and you’re looking for an instagram spot, head on over to this iconic landmark located between Manele and Hulopoe Bay. You will be greeted by a majestic sight of Puu Pehe’s red rock cliffs towering high and above the deep blue ocean.

The contrast in color against the sea and sky is amazing.

37.Haleakala National Park

National Parks are always an amazing place to explore a country’s natural beauty and Haleakala National Park is that very special place that fuses stories of ancient and modern Hawaii culture.

This is one of my favorite national parks because this dormant volcano is home to a breathtaking range of landscapes, native birds, rare plants and amazing panoramic views at the top. You can be sure there are plenty of photo ops abound.

Haleakala also means “House of the Sun” and rightly so! You should hike up to the summit to experience one of the world’s most beautiful sunrises. I love the tranquility the place has to offer as the sun makes its way up in the horizon.

38. Iao Valley State Park

Don’t you agree your instagram posts and reels always tend to look more beautiful when there is lush greenery involved?

This is certainly the case for me and Iao Valley State Park features an amazingly lush emerald forest and is home to the iconic landmark, the 1,200-foot Iao Needle, a high peak that shoots out into the sky.

Not only that, I love how Iao Valley State Park also has a beautiful river and some waterfalls. I have no words to fully describe the raw beauty of this place.

39.Kaihalulu Red Sand Beach

Maui instagram spots are plentiful but this location is the perfect spot to add to your list of instagrammable places in Hawaii. I am so used to walking on golden sandy beaches that this stretch of red sand beach is just stunning! It is truly a sight to behold.

The short hike into Kaihalulu will reveal a little hidden pocket beach that is shielded from the open seas by a reef that protects the bay from large waves.

The beach is typically quite empty and quiet which makes it quite a lovely spot for some photography, and relaxation!

40.Koki Beach

I love exploring Hawaii’s beaches because their diverse natural ecosystem lends to some very interesting landscapes and Koki Beach is one of them. This beach has a mixture of black, white and red sand. The red sand comes from a nearby red cinder hill.

This beach is normally an ideal spot for bodyboarders and surfers and swimming is generally not advised because of strong currents and high surf. Nevertheless, it makes a quaint spot for a picnic and surf watching.

41.Kula Ali’i Lavender Farm

This beautiful lavender farm is picturesque at every turn so you know you’ll definitely get some amazing shots here. This place is also really calm and relaxing, perfect for a laid back stroll.

42.Makaluapuna Point/ Dragon’s Teeth

Makaluapuna Point and Dragons Teeth is another fantastic spot to catch some amazing views in West Maui. You may not have the opportunity to see a real dragon in this lifetime but head on over here for a glimpse of Dragon’s Teeth.

When you’re on Dragon’s Teeth, you’re actually walking on hardened lava! The jagged ‘teeth’ were formed from the last lava flows in Maui. As the lava poured into the ocean, the strong winds and waves forced the lava back and hardened into formation mid-air.

43.Paia

Come to Paia to immerse yourself in the North Shore surfing culture. Also known as the windsurfing capital of the world, Paia is home to some amazing beaches.

What’s more quaint is the beautiful and rustic Paia town that is filled with colorful shop fronts, local art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. This little town gives off a laid back country vibe and you can catch some amazing shots at every corner you turn.

44.Pools of Ohe’o (Seven Sacred Pools)

I am always looking for interesting spots in Hawaii and one of them is the Pools of Ohe’o. This tiered waterfall originates from the rainforest stream as it cascades down several tiered formations that empties into the Hawaiian ocean.

The hike into Pools of Ohe’o is an easy one and young children are able to hike without difficulty making this an ideal family adventure. If you’re looking for some of the most instagrammable places in Hawaii while having some family fun, this place is for you.

45.Haleakala Red Hill Summit Trail

If you want to experience what being in the clouds feels like, head on up to Maui’s highest peak. At the summit trail, you’ll also be able to overlook some stunning views of west Maui, Haleakala Crater, and the Haleakala Observatory.

The Haleakala Summit is also the 4th darkest place in the world which makes it the ideal spot for milky way photography!

46.Secret Cove Beach

This beach is a gem and a well kept secret. Its sandy beaches may not stretch all that far but it is secluded and a perfect place to watch the sunset.

47.Sunflower Field- Maui

Sunflower fields always make a great backdrop for photos so head on over to Maui Sunflower Field for that picture perfect shot.

There’s something quite special about this farm actually. A biofuel company actually grows these sunflowers and turns them into oil to power the island. Talk about sustainability!

48.The Bamboo Forest on the Pipiwai Trail

I’ve been to a few bamboo forests in my life and I can tell you the feeling of being in one is magical. I almost always feel like they’re protecting me from harm. Not to mention too, they make great photo backdrops. The Bamboo Forest on Pipiwai Trail is no exception.

This trail is already beautiful to begin with – with several waterfalls along the way but, as you arrive at the bamboo forest, the majestic sight of the towering plant, with a boardwalk that leads you through the trail is just simply magical.

49.The Hana Highway (The Road to Hana)

Doesn’t the name of this location sound romantic? The Road to Hana sounds as if it will lead me through a romantic forest of sorts.

While romantic may not be an accurate translation because this highway is also known as “The Divorce Highway”. BUT I assure you the sights are amazing!

The Hana Highway or The Road to Hana is a scenic drive through the coastal route of Maui and arrives at Hana, in Hawaii’s east coast. As it isn’t just one spot, you’re in for over 50 miles of gorgeous Hawaiian scenery.

So be prepared to make multiple stops at cascading waterfalls, coastline overlooks, pretty stretches of roads, and more! This is definitely one of the most instagrammable places in Hawaii.

50.Honokalani Black Sand Beach

There are many beaches in and around Hawaii but a black sand beach is not a common sight. Here at Honokalani Black Sand Beach, you get more than just black sand. The beauty of this place is unparalleled.

There is a trail around this beach and if we walk around it, you’ll get a magnificent sight of the beach and its coastline against the azure blue ocean. There are also blowholes, lava caves and stone arches which make for splendid photo opportunities.

51.Waihee Ridge Trail

Hikers have commented that this trail is rather rigorous but the reward for all your hard work is not only the spectacular view on top but also equally spectacular landscapes of the lush rainforest valley, waterfalls and very unique birds.

52.Waimoku Falls

Of all the falls I have shared here, I find the Waimoku Falls to be one of the best attractions around Hana and one of the falls that actually lives up to the hype. This falls is located at the end of the Pipiwai Trail, above the Seven Sacred Pools on The Road to Hana.

In terms of great photography sights, how can you beat that?

The trail to the falls starts right at the visitor center and the hike is a relatively easy one. As you follow the trail you pass the photogenic bamboo forest and lots of lush greenery along the way. Sounds like the perfect place for amazing instagram shots.

HAWAII, BIG ISLAND

53.Akaka Falls

If you’re looking for a short round trip hike yet get to see a beautiful waterfall and gorgeous scenery, Akaka Falls is perfect for you.

The hike to the falls is relatively short at 30 minutes (round trip). Along the way there are plenty of colorful and beautiful flowers along the trail. Such a pretty sight to accompany your hike to the falls.

54.Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

One of the most instagrammable places in Hawaii has got to be the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This park is home to two active volcanoes including the Kilauea and Mauna Loa.

I’m amazed that we are able to access this location and get a glimpse of the primal process of creation and destruction. This in itself is a reason why the National Park is a must-see place to visit.

55.Kulaniapia Falls

The Kulaniapia Falls looks and feels like it came straight out of an Indiana Jones movie. The lush jungle surrounding the cascading waterfall is truly a spectacular view that makes it one of the most instagrammable places in Hawaii. wherever it is viewed from, you can be sure to get great photos at every angle.

This picturesque waterfall is actually a private waterfall so be sure you make the necessary arrangement before heading over. Visitors could book a day pass or an overnight stay to access the waterfall.

56.Makalawena Beach

Hawaii instagram spots are abundant and Makalawena Beach is a perfect place for some great seaside photography. The golden sandy shore stretches on for miles and the azure blue waters are gentle and calm.

Best of all, this beach is actually rather secluded with very few visitors because it is not easily accessible by car. To get here, you actually have to hike a short trail from Mahai’ula Beach parking lot. The hike will take around 20-30 minutes.

While getting here may not be entirely straightforward, the short hike to get here is worth it. You get to soak in the sun and sights in peace.

57.Mauna Kea

Mauna Kea is a dormant volcano and also the highest point in the Hawaiian Islands.

With its towering peak at 13,803 feet above sea level, the Mauna Kea is not only a tourist attraction but also home to the world’s largest observatory for optical, infrared and submillimeter astronomy.

To get a glimpse of the sweeping views Mauna Kea has to offer, you can head on up to the Maunakea Visitor Information Station (VIS) at 9,200 feet. If you enjoy some stargazing activity, the Onizuka Center holds free nightly stargazing sessions here too!

58.Papakolea Green Sand Beach

Hawaii is truly home to some of the world’s most interesting natural landscapes and Papakolea Green Sand Beach is one of the marvels of the world.

The sand at this beautiful beach is green and it is created by a common mineral in Big Island lava called olivine. To get here, you would have to hike 2.5 miles (one way) from the parking lot.

As this beach is quite secluded you would most likely have most of the beach to yourself. The sight of the green sand against the brilliant colors of the waters is truly a magnificent sight.

59.Pololu Valley

I need to catch my breath because the view of Pololu Valley is that breathtaking!

As you travel onto the Kohala Coast, you will be greeted by a glorious coastline. This spectacular valley is situated at the head of the Kohala Coast and sports deep valleys and picturesque beaches.

Most people would park their car at the designated parking lot at the end of the road to step out and enjoy the views of the sprawling cliffs of Pololu Valley, and the dramatic northeastern coastline.

But the best part is yet to come. Hike down the valley floor and spend some time on the beach. I can assure you it is worth your while.

60.Punalu’u Black Sand Beach

Visiting a black sand beach is always quite an experience as not many beaches come in back sand. This is particularly special because the constant volcanic activity has blessed these beaches with its unique black sand.

Black sand aside, this is also one of Big Island’s most picturesque beaches with palm trees lining the shores on one side and the highlight of the trip would be watching turtles bask on the beach.

61.Rainbow Falls

If you’re looking for a quick and easy scenic stop, Rainbow Falls is your answer. This waterfall is easily accessible by the road with a convenient parking lot (free parking too!) attached to the viewing ramp.

Head over early in the morning because that is the time you would most likely get to see a rainbow arching across the falls that makes it one of the most instagrammable places in Hawaii.
