Once you are done strolling around The House Of Tiles, please head to Torre Latinoamericana. 

The 44-story skyscraper is one of the tallest buildings in the city and also the world’s first major skyscraper successfully built in an active quaky zone.

This house is not just a shelter but it is an art. Designed by the renowned Luis Barragan with lively colors and geometric shapes for the Gilardi family in 1976.

10. Xochimilco Canals

Making a trip to Xochimilco is one of the trips that you should make while in Mexico because it is one of the best areas to visit in Mexico City. The main attraction in Xochimilco is The Floating Garden which is full of colorful gondolas called Trajineras.

The vibrant colors of Trajineras along the chinampas, mariachi musicians, and people drinking traditional mezcal cocktails and pulque are like a party on a boat floating in the middle of Mexico. An insane once-in-a-lifetime experience!

11. Palacio De Bellas Artes, Known As The Palace Of Fine Arts

A traditional style market that sells classic Mexican handicrafts and folk art such as wool blankets, loom-woven blouses, hand-blown glass, mirrors, stone-plated jewelry, Talavera pottery, and more!

When you are visiting La Ciudadela, please use the word Cuanto cuesta (how much) as a conversation starter as you will need to do a lot of bargaining in this place.

A trip to Mexico City is not complete without a visit to this market with over 200 stalls covering 16 thousand square meters! HUGE AND CRAZY. A wonderful place to buy souvenirs for your loved ones back home.

Mercado De San Juan is the largest covered market in Latin America with more than 3,000 stalls within an area of 40,000 square meters located in the heart of Guadalajara Jalisco.

From both native and imported fruits and vegetables, fresh seafood delivered daily, and gourmet meats, you name it, the market has it all!

Teotihuacan is one of the world’s most impressive archaeological sites that you must visit when you are in Mexico City.

This lesser-known museum in San Angel is one of the Instagrammable spots in Mexico City. Its spiral staircase which curls its way up to the side of Diego’s studio contrasted with solid red walls, innovative cactus fencing at the front, and a rooftop terrace view make it one of Mexico City Instagram Spots.

28. Museo Dolores Olmedo

Every travel guide to Mexico City will mention visiting La Casa Azul (The Blue House) but not Museo Dolores Olmedo. 

This lesser-known museum, located in Xochimilco, houses the art collection of the Mexican businesswoman, Dolores Olmedo, and includes the largest selection of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera’s works.

The setting is fabulous, with amazing sculptures, many native Mexican trees, as well as the peacocks and Xolos (Mexican Hairless dogs) which roam the areas. A great place to get your pictures without being photobombed by other tourists.

Tips: A must-visit for all Frida and Diego artwork lovers. The little cafe at the back of the garden serves some delicious traditional dishes and a good cup of coffee or tea. 

29. Museo Nacional de Arte (MUNAL)

Founded in 1982 and located in the historical center of Mexico City, MUNAL hosts the most important collection of Mexican art in the country.

With more than 3,551 works of collections including magnificent paintings, sculpture, engraving, and drawing, as well as folk art and photography, all collections are an absolute masterpiece on their own!

The building and the interior itself are an art where you can get interesting pictures to spice up your Instagram feed. A classic museum that you won’t be disappointed with. I vouch for that!

30. National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)

Are you telling me to visit a university to get Instagrammable pictures? Yes, you got me right! UNAM is located in downtown Mexico and is the largest university in Latin America.

One of the highlights or interesting features of the campus is the murals. It’s incredibly cool! And I’m not even kidding! The most famous one is at the central library. 

A ten-story building covered with massive mosaic stone murals (cool isn’t it?) done by Juan O’Gorman. The tiles/stones had to be collected from all around the country and no paint was involved! BRILLIANT!

31. Museo del Chocolate (MUCHO)

To all chocolate lovers, this is for you. It is the first chocolate museum in Mexico City, located inside a mansion that dates back to 1909. Add this your list of Mexico city instagram spots!

A great place to learn about the fascinating history behind chocolate, how the Mayans considered cacao a magical substance that feed the mind, body, and spirit, and how Aztecs of the region also honored cacao and used it as a trading currency.

Indeed an educational place to learn about chocolate and they have a sunny open courtyard with plants that makes this a very visitor-friendly museum and a great picture spot!

32. Azul Historico

There are plenty of restaurants in Mexico City to choose from during your vacation, but if you’re looking for one to inspire the most envy from those stalking your feed, Azul Historico is the one.

The interior was thoughtfully designed with gorgeous tall trees and lanterns all over the restaurant. Indeed a magical decor!

Tips:  They have 2 branches. One is in the upscale Condesa district, and another one is in Centro Historico, just next to Zocalo. Make a reservation based on your preferred location. 



33. Barrio Chino

Barrio Chino is a bit touristy and not authentic but you can find bubble tea shops, dumplings, steam pau, and Chinese cuisine restaurants.
